Tom Hedrick, Managing Director

Tom Hedrick has invested in venture-related startups since 1995.
In addition to his full time duties at HPGP, Tom also manages his own family fund, Dillon Joyce, Ltd and has in the
past actively partnered with Memphis-based SSM Ventures and Dallas-based Vortex Partners. Prior to his private
investment career, Tom was a Senior Partner (Director) with McKinsey & Company. During his career at McKinsey
he held leadership positions in the High Tech and Private Equity practices. He was also the Managing Partner of the
Dallas office. Tom began his career as an engineer at Exxon Company USA. Tom holds a BS in Chemical Engineering
from The University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Christopher Paddison,
Managing Director

Chris was formerly a leader of McKinsey & Company’s
Healthcare practice and the New Jersey Office. He moved to Dallas
in 1998 to become President of Essilor Laboratories, and lead its
growth to become the dominant independent eyeglass manufacturer.
In the past 5 years Mr. Paddison has returned to consulting, first
as Global Leader of AT Kearney’s Healthcare Practice and then
as the founder of Paddison Associates, a strategic consulting and
interim management firm targeting innovative healthcare companies.
Mr. Paddison received his MBA (with high distinction) from the Harvard
Business School and his B.Comm from Queens University, in Ontario,
Canada.
Nick Orenstein, Associate

Nick joined HP Growth Partners in January 2009. Prior to joining the firm he founded Lono Medical Systems,
a Dallas-based startup which developed a passive, acoustic fetal heart monitor for hospitals and
homes. Nick served as Lono's CEO, during which time he delivered four top-prize-winning business plan
presentations. Nick presently serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Upstart
Productions, a local theater company focused on producing dramatic plays. During his undergraduate studies,
he interned in the engineering department at Saleen, Inc., a manufacturer of high-performance automobiles.
Nick graduated from St. Mark's School of Texas and holds an Honors SB degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Harvard University.
